Refund Policy
Subscription billing only. Entry-fee and prize-pool arrangements between league members are not covered here.
Draft — not reviewed by a lawyer
This document was written by checking what the software actually does, not copied from a template. It is a starting point, not a finished legal instrument, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Some sections contain bracketed placeholders (such as [ENTITY NAME] or [JURISDICTION]) that this deployment's operator has not yet filled in.
Draft prepared: 2026-08-24.
This document is published in English only. The text below is not yet available in a reviewed translation, so every language on this site shows the same English wording until a professional translation is commissioned.
Scope
This policy covers subscription billing for the Service itself, billed through Stripe, only.
It does not cover entry fees, prize pools, or any other money league members arrange between themselves. The Service has no feature for collecting or refunding those — that question is tracked separately and remains unresolved.
Trial, plans and billing today
Every new league gets an app-managed 30-day trial of the League plan. No card is taken. When it ends the league falls back to the free plan with no data loss — paid features lock, nothing you entered is deleted. Nothing is charged during the trial, so there is nothing to refund for it.
Paid plans are billed through Stripe, monthly, or yearly where the deployment offers a yearly price for that plan. A deployment that has not set up billing has no paid plans, and nothing in this policy applies to it.
A failed payment is not an immediate cut-off: the subscription stays active (the paid plan is kept) while Stripe retries the payment. If Stripe ends the subscription, the league returns to the free plan.
How cancellation actually works today
Opening the billing page's “manage subscription” control takes you to Stripe's own hosted Customer Portal, which is what a league admin uses to self-serve an upgrade, downgrade, or cancellation.
When the paid plan ends follows Stripe, not a rule in this policy. The app drops the league to the free plan when Stripe reports the subscription as deleted or no longer active. Whether that is at the end of the period already paid for or immediately, and whether the change is prorated or any amount is refunded, is decided by the Customer Portal configuration in the operator's own Stripe account. If you need the exact behavior for a specific deployment, ask that deployment's operator.
A downgrade or cancellation flows back through a subscription webhook and re-locks the relevant plan-gated pages without any data loss — losing access to a paid feature does not delete anything you already entered.
Annual plans
Where a deployment offers it, a paid plan can be bought for a year: the whole year is charged in advance, in one payment, and the subscription renews for another year unless it is cancelled.
Cancelling part-way through the year follows the same rule as a monthly plan. The app keeps the paid plan while Stripe reports the subscription active, and drops the league to the free plan, with no data loss, when Stripe ends it. Whether that happens at the end of the year already paid for or immediately, and whether any unused part of the year is prorated or refunded, is decided by the Customer Portal configuration in the operator's own Stripe account. The Service itself issues no refunds and calculates no pro-rata amounts, for yearly or monthly plans. Switching between monthly and yearly, where the portal allows it, is handled by Stripe in the same way.
[LAWYER/OWNER TODO: decide the refund commitment for annual plans — for example a pro-rated refund of the unused months on cancellation, or a refund window after purchase — and configure Stripe to match. This draft makes none.]
Right of withdrawal (consumers)
[LAWYER TODO: whether a statutory consumer right of withdrawal applies to subscriptions bought by consumers in the operator's and the buyer's jurisdictions, how it interacts with the free trial and with immediate access to digital services, and what notice must be given. This draft asserts no position.]
Requesting a refund
If the automatic Portal flow does not cover your situation, contact your league's admin, or the deployment operator directly at [CONTACT EMAIL]. This policy does not commit to a specific refund window or guaranteed outcome beyond what Stripe's own portal already does.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as billing changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
